Velo by Wix, formerly known as Corvid, is an all-inclusive web development platform that facilitates the creation of high-quality, user-friendly online apps. Access to an open platform with a visual builder, IDE, serverless Node.js, integrated databases, and more is yours with Velo. Everything is supported by the reliable Wix Cloud with no preliminary work required.
While working in the Wix editor, you can use Velo's APIs to add your own features and interactions, as well as to install npm packages, connect to third-party APIs, and more.
In 2017, we released Wix Code, which served as the inspiration for Velo. Wix Code was an IDE (integrated development environment) for managing data, modifying Wix component behaviour, developing online apps, and making stable websites.
Over the last two years, Wix Code has expanded rapidly, adding a plethora of new features and cutting-edge development tools. The initial environment has matured into a low-code, no-code platform for serious programmers. And thus Velo entered the world.

Everything good about Wix, and more
With Velo, you can quickly and easily design the user interface of your web app from hundreds of UI components without sacrificing the adaptability of your code. Control the actions of each component using JavaScript and the Velo APIs from inside the integrated IDE or your own development environment. Among them is the incorporation of a variety of new animations, interactions, and events.
Wix's pre-built apps provide a solid foundation from which to build your own custom web apps, such as those for online storefronts and reservations. To completely tailor their features to your requirements, use Velo APIs or APIs from other providers. Alternatively, you may connect to an existing database or create a new one from inside the visual builder. You may also manage and aggregate collections using the several Wix Data APIs included in your site's code.
You may use Velo to create locally with your preferred tools, then share your progress with coworkers in real time. All with developers not doing any upkeep and the option of including sophisticated backend features like routers and scheduled processes.
Use the Velo Developer Console to preview, test, and debug your code before releasing it to the public. Both front- and back-end code may benefit from this tool's highlighting of errors, warnings, and debug messages. A clickable link to the offending line of code and the page it's located on are also included. You may also test apps in isolation to make sure they work as intended before releasing them to the public.
You can use Velo to analyse and monitor your app's performance with the help of your preferred tools since it is completely SEO optimised and integrates with industry-leading marketing systems like Google Analytics and Facebook Pixel.
